Overview

The programme provides theoretical and practical basis for applying IT, mathematical and statistical skills to the analysis of genomic, and multi-omic, data. The international and multidisciplinary environment, together with numerous practical activities are distinctive elements of the course. Training is completed by the curricular internship, in university or external facilities, in Italy or abroad.

What will you study?

The programme provides strong knowledge in genetics and molecular biology, as well as competences in computer programming, biostatistics, and computational simulations. Graduates will gain: biocomputing skills for genomic data mining, annotation, and management; theoretical and practical skills for the analysis of biological communities, cell populations and complex systems; elements of bioethics.

Experiences abroad

The programme offers the opportunity to carry out internships in companies/institutions abroad and to participate in exchange programmes (such as Erasmus+, Overseas, and Study grants for dissertations abroad). These experiences provide a direct contact with international environments, allowing students to improve their knowledge, skills and competences and to gain professional experience.

Build your own future. This is what you can do with this degree.

5 reasons to enrol on the degree programme

Because like no other programmes, it helps to learn and use bioinformatic and analytical tools to decrypt the language and information hidden in genomes.

Because it is an absolutely innovative degree program which may offer extraordinary job prospects in an emerging and continuously developing field.

Because it makes me feel an active player in scientific research and in bioinformatics.

Because, as this is an international programme, it helps me look to the future and makes me feel like a citizen of the world.
