Genomics Admissions 2017-18

How to apply: deadlines, requirements, admission procedures for Italian and International students.

GENOMICS is a restricted-access programme: this means that you will have to be selected to take part. For 2017-2018 academic year we will admit 52 students.

Please find some useful information on application modes in the table below. However, it is essential that you read the Call for Applications in the attachment. 

Non-European candidates

One of the following:

European and European-assimilated candidates

One of the following

· SAT score

· Dossier (=high school transcripts + English language certificate B2*)

· SAT score

· TOLC-I scores + English language certificate B2*

 

 

Language requirements
The minimum level of English required to be a GENOMICS student is B2 (from the CEFR scale.): if you apply via Dossier or via TOLC I test, you will also have to provide us with an official language certificate (among those that will be listed in the Call for Applications), whereas no language certificate is necessary if you take the SAT.

*The list of language certificates we can accept will be available in the Call for Apllications a.y. 2017/2018.

Some Information about SAT:

  • We accept SAT General Test, without Essay. We will not assess or consider the Essay part of the test.

  • You can take the test in different locations all over the world. Check what's the nearest to you from this page.

    Bologna will host a SAT session on 6 May 2017 (other towns may host more sessions).

  • Each test date and venue has limited capacity. Make sure you register at your earliest convenience to be included as a test taker at you preferred location. 

  • For ALL information about this test (its structure, registration, preparation, etc.) you need to refer exclusively to the College Board website.

  • After taking the test, it is mandatory that you ask College Board to forward your SAT scores to the University of Bologna, using code 6993.

Some information about TOLC test:

TOLC-I is a test in Italian only. TOLC test does include some questions in English which, however, will NOT be considered for the purpose of language assessment. For information on TOLC tests, please refer to the Cisia website
