President Vaclav Klaus
Vaclav Klaus, the former president of Czech Republic from 2003 to 2013, a politician and economist who has guided his country through the process of post-communist economic and political change, EU accession as well as through the peaceful disintegration of Czechoslovakia, has addressed the students of the LM MIREES (MA in Interdisciplinary Research and Studies on Eastern Europe) in Forli. While appreciating the opportunity to hear directly from one of the key policy makers of the Central Eastern Europe of the transition period they focus intensively in their studies, the students also had many critical questions on president Klaus’ more controversial opinions. This made the lecture very lively and stimulating.
