Admission Procedures 

If you are an international student, check in advance all the information about financial aid opportunities and the steps to be taken in order to enrol.


Check of curricula and personal preparation requirements

If you have a foreign qualification read the specific information before continuing.

If you are a non-EU citizen resident abroad read the specific information prepared for you.

Admission to the International Bologna Master in Bioinformatics is allowed to students with a good background either in Bio-logies or in Computational Sciences. The student’s Curriculum Vitae et Studiorum must show skills and competences in:

- Mathematics, Physics, Informatics, Chemistry
- Biological/Biotechnological/Biomedical oriented knowledge.

A good knowledge of written and spoken English must be documented. 

If student's skills and competences are not satisfactory according to the evaluation of their CV, they will be asked to undergo an interview. Please, see to the downloadable "Adimssion Requirements" document for more details. 

A customized curriculum is also available for part-time students. 


After you have taken all the steps needed to check that the admission requirements are satisfied, you can enrol by visiting Studenti online:

  1. complete the application for matriculation by inputting the required data and an ID photograph in digital format. 

  2. pay the first instalment 

Next, go the Student administration office with a valid ID document to collect your badge and obtain access to the University services (wifi, study plan, exams, libraries). If you decide to visit the Student administration office on the day that you paid the first instalment, take the payment receipt with you. 

If you have a previous University career you can apply for a shortening of the degree programme. Complete the recognition of credits form and give it to the Student administration office. The Degree Programme Board will consider recognition and the year in which to enrol.

If you are handicapped with a recognised degree of invalidity of 66% or more, or you have certification issued pursuant to Law 104/92, you can obtain exemption.
If you have a foreign qualification, you must also given the Student administration office:

·         solely for EU students and equivalent non-EU students, a copy of both sides of your identity card or other official form of recognition;

·         solely for non-EU students resident abroad, a copy of your passport and an ID photograph authenticated by the Embassy;

·         solely for equivalent non-EU students or those resident abroad, a copy of your valid residence permit or, if requested but not yet issued, a copy of the receipt for the request made. In this case, matriculation is completed subject to presentation of the residence permit.

·         original foreign qualification that has been legalised and translated;

·         declaration of value of the qualification;

·         certificate, if applicable, of academic or post-secondary studies that has been legalised and translated;

·         certificate, if applicable, of passing the academic suitability test;

·         programmes of all course units taken during the last year abroad, if applicable, with translation (only if not already in French, English, German or Spanish)
