Civil Engineering

Bachelor at Mapua Institute of Technology, Manila Filippine

When I was a kid, I was very fascinated by the creation of skyscrapers, incredible bridges and highways that connect one place to another, also the ports and harbors that make the transportation of goods a lot easier, the stupendous airports that helps people move into other parts of the world faster, the dams and reservoirs for water supply and flood control. Therefore I decided to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering to become part of this fascinating world.

After working for a few years as a civil engineer for a construction company in the Philippines I decided that I wanted to study abroad and get my masters degree. Taking up an International Masters Degree in Civil Engineering at the Bologna University is a great opportunity and it feels like a dream come true because I always wanted to study in one of the best universities in the world. Classes are taught in English, thereby improving not only my engineering ability but also my language comprehension. Interacting with students from all over the world allows me to learn and understand things from other cultures and countries.

My experience in studying here in Europe is something I will never forget; it's like a diamond that I will keep forever. I came from an Asian country the Philippines and when I arrived in Italy everything was new, the language, buildings, foods, culture, weather and people, but I managed to adjust quickly to my new environment and made many new friends. I don’t have any problem to communicate with my professors and classmates because they are very open-minded, friendly and helpful as much as they can.

I can say that Civil Engineering is a tough course but it is challenging and exciting. It requires hard work and study but at the same time it’s a great feeling that I got this chance to study abroad and learn so many new things. I can recommend everyone the same and have such a great experience.
