CLEF Call for Applications 2024-25 (in English)

Bando di ammissione CLEF 2024-25 (in Italian)

Please download and read the BANDO (Ita) /CALL FOR APPLICATIONS (Eng) in this page. If you are interested in applying to CLEF, it is ESSENTIAL that you read the bando/call thoroughly. Should you have any doubts, AFTER having read it in all its parts, you may contact the CLEF Tutor (didatticasociale.tutorclef@unibo.it).

What's CLEF?

CLEF stands for Corso di Laurea in Economics and Finance; it is an international undergraduate degree course, entirely taught in English and open to Italian and international applicants. It lasts 3 years and leads to the title of Bachelor's (1st-cycle degree). For detailed info and contents please read our "Presentation" and "Overview" pages.

Where is it based?

You would be studying at the School of Economics and Management, Department of Economics, of the University of Bologna which is the oldest University in the western world (est. 1088 a.C.).

Am I eligible to apply for the selection?
Yes if you have an Italian Diploma di Maturità. Have you got a non-Italian secondary school certificate? If so, check this page to understand if you have the requirements to apply and the specific documentation needed. Also have a look at the page for special cases and information by country.

How many places are available?
CLEF is a restricted-access programme: this means that eligible students will have to be selected to take part. The maximum of candidates we can admit is 120, and admissions will be divided into 3 rounds of intakes

  • 1st intake: 40 places for EU and EU-assimilated citizens + 40 places for non-EU citizens residing outside of Italy;
  • 2nd intake: 40 places for EU and EU-assimilated citizens;
  • 3rd intake: to be activated only in case of places left available from 1st and 2nd intake.

Info on dates and deadlines available in the Bando/Call for Applications.

My citizenship status: am I an EU, EU-assimilated or not EU candidate?
It is important to understand your citizenship status as the documents required may be different. To find out exactly what that means, check out your status here.

How do I apply?
We will admit students via SAT General Test, an international test in English managed by CollegeBoard. You may take this test from now in one of the test centres available intarnationally; then, you'll be able to forward your application on our databases when our application process will open. NB:

  • Remember that when you register on our Unibo application database (now still closed), you will need to provide the same email that you used on your registration CollegeBoard.com.
  • You will need to ask CollegeBoard to send your test scores to the University of Bologna.

>>>> Please check all the info on SAT on the links in the attachment box of this page.

English language knowledge needed:

CLEF is entirely taught in English and all exams and activities will be conducted in English. It is not a course to improve your language skills, which should be already at least at B2 level before starting classes. This said, we do not ask you to provide any language certificate/proof of knowledge, as your language abilities will be tested via the SAT.

Tuition Fee Amounts

Tuition fees are calculated based on the 2023 ISEE value with special subsidies in relation to the right to higher education. First year students with an ISEE value up to a specific threshold benefit from full exemption; the relevant ISEE threshold will be released by the end of May 2023. Above this limit, tuition fees are calculated progressively.

The ISEE value must be submitted, even if you have not enrolled in the Degree Programme, by 30 October 2023, at 6:00pm (or by 15 November 2023, at 6:00pm, paying a €100 penalty) accessing ER-GO Online Services, alternatively you will have to pay the full amount.

If you are an international student, verify how your tuition fees will be calculated according to your country of origin and the country where your family has income and assets.

Read all information about tuition fees and exemptions.
