To be accepted on this degree programme one needs to have a 5-year high school leaver's certificate or foreign qualification recognised as compatible, or a 4-year high school leaver's diploma plus catch-up year or, where that is no longer being run, proof of having made up an additional learning requirement.

Restricted access

Locally this is a restricted-access degree programme (ex art. 2 L. 264/99) on the basis of the resources available. The exact student intake and the selection procedure will be published every year in a specific call for applications.

Knowledge requirement

Knowledge of the following is required:

- Basic mathematics and logical reasoning

Assessment of basic knowledge

To be admitted to this degree programme all students have to sit a knowledge test forming part of the restricted-access admission selection.

A minimum score will be set to the restricted-access admission test which is entirely designed to test if students know enough to join.

Any students admitted with a score lower than the set minimum will have to do an additional learning requirement (OFA).

Additional Learning Requirements

If you fail an exam, you will be set a learning requirement consisting in attending a catch-up course in mathematics or other subjects that may be set, as outlined in the Call. When you pass the maths exam by the deadline set by the academic authorities, the additional learning requirement will be deemed to have ended.

Failure to make the OFA grade by the official deadline published on the University Portal means having to re-enrol for the year in question.

When you pass the maths exam you are exempted from the OFA test.

Assessment of knowledge and language skills

To join the degree programme you have to show knowledge of English. The minimum level is B1. The form of the English test will be made known every year via the Call mechanism; a level higher than B1 may be set.

Semester and third year@Buenos Aires Campus

To bolster international mobility, the degree programme in Business and Economics allows students to spend one semester or more of the third year at the Bologna University Campus, Buenos Aires.

The following course units are scheduled at Buenos Aires:

Corporate Finance (B.A.) SECS-P/09 60 hours, 9 credits

Attività a libera scelta 1* 60 hours, 9 credits

Attività a libera scelta 2* 60 hours, 9 credits

Internship* 320/480 hours 6/9 credits

Business Strategy (B.A. in Spanish) SECS-P/08 60 hours, 9 credits

International Marketing (B.A. in Spanish) SECS-P/08 60 hours, 9 credits

International Economics (B.A.) SECS-P/01 60 hours, 9 credits

Spanish Language (B.A.) 30 hours 3 credits to be chosen among the electives

The semesters are reserved for a limited number of students, established annually in the call for admission. The students will be selected according to the following criteria:

- Minimum number of CFU obtained

- Exam average (75%)

- Letter stating motivation and Spanish language certificates (25%)

The selection methods are published annually in the relative call for admission

* The School/Department Board may recognise elective learning activities included in the study plan and undertaken by the student at foreign universities and/or other bodies providing university-level teaching activities, with which agreements have been signed. This possibility is extended to students registered from AY 13/14 and later academic years.

CLABE Special Programmes - Unibo for Refugees

13 extra positions have been reserved to special programmes for the a.y. 2024/25 and they are available as follows:

3 for displaced students or refugees (or applicants) in Italy
5 for Afghan female student residing in Afghanistan, or domiciled in third countries in order to obtain a visa
5 for Iranian female student residing in Iran

BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS - BOLOGNA TRACK

Corso di Laurea in Business and Economics (CLABE) is a restricted-access programme: this means that you will have to be selected to take part in it. For 2024/2025 academic year there will be 180 places available in the Bologna track and 60 places available in the Buenos Aires track.

The two tracks present the same course structure, but are ruled by standing-alone calls of admission. This means that you can choose to either be a Clabe Bologna track student or a Clabe BA student.

The main difference between the two degree courses is that the Clabe BA students are going to attend their first year classes in the UniBo campus in Buenos Aires while the Clabe students in the campus of Bologna.

1. INTAKES AND DEADLINES

I intake (Eu and assimilated AND Non-Eu): from February 5 to April 29, 2024 (1 p.m cet)

- 50 available positions for EU and assimilated

- 32 available positions for non EU

- 3+10 available positions only for Special Unibo Programmes

1. SAT

SAT stands for "Scholastic Assessment Test" and it is managed by College Board.

What you can do NOW is to get prepared and take the SAT test, which is necessary to apply to CLABE - Bologna Track.

2. Where and when to take the SAT

Look at the website of the College Board and get the news about where and when to take the SAT test;

3. How to submit your SAT score

- Before sitting the test or, once you have taken the test, send your score to the University of Bologna (University code 6993)

- read the Call for Application in order to complete all the steps required.

Notice that scores take at least 3 weeks to be received.

2) PERFORMANCE RANKING AND ADDITIONAL LEARNING ACTIVITY (OFA)

Candidates will be able to access the final ranking of admitted applicants through the Studenti Online page.
Depending on performance outcomes, admitted applicants may be assigned compulsory Additional Learning Activities (OFA). Candidates will have to attend the crash course in Mathematics at the beginning of the academic year, whenever they do not achieve the following results:

< 500/800 in the math section of the SAT;

The final exam of the Mathematics course must be passed within March 31, 2025 in order to fill the gap.

International students - Special regulations for specific qualifications

US High School diploma
Candidates holding a US High School Diploma, issued by an American high school in the US or by an American school in other countries, in order to be eligible to enrol to Italian University must, alternatively:
1) have earned at least 3 US Advanced Placements (APs), passed with a minimum grade of 3 out of
5, in subjects related to Business and Economics.
2) have successfully completed two years of college/university education (and be admitted to the third year)
3) have successfully completed one year of college education (and be admitted to the second year) and have earned at least 4 US Advanced Placements (APs) in subjects related to Business and Economics.

APs in Italian cannot be considered valid when applying to a degree course taught in English.
Please remember that APs are courses accredited by the College Board. You can have the College Board send your test results to the University of Bologna (recipient code 6993) and thereby avoid the legalization of their certification. Please note that The American High School Diploma alone is NOT valid.

GCE (from the British school system)

With a British GCE secondary qualification, you can be eligible if you have at least 3 A-levels in different subjects related to Business and Economics. A-levels in Italian cannot be considered valid when applying to a degree course taught in English.

Apolytirion Candidates holding the Greek certificate “Apolytirion” need to have passed it with an overall mark of at least 10/20, and to have obtained a “Veveossi Prosvassis” certificate (special regulations apply to those who obtained the “Apolytirion” before 1999). The points 2 and 3 of this paragraph stay valid too.

International Baccalaureate Diploma The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is valid for admission to Italian universities, whereas the International Baccalaureate Certificate and the IB Diploma Programme courses are not valid for admission.
We can only accept full IB Diplomas.

Other:

• If, in your home country, admission to university-level studies is subject to special exams, you must give evidence to have passed such selections with the required minimum scores (e.g. Gao Kao, Veveossi Prosvassis, Matura, YGS, Vestibular/ENEM) in order to enroll in any Italian university. It is important that your secondary school-leaving certificate complies with all the requirements above. In case it does not, you may not be able to enroll. If you have doubts, you should get in contact with the local Italian Consulate or Embassy in the country where the diploma was issued and/or the University of Bologna International Desk
(internationaldesk@unibo.it).

Tuition Fee Amounts

Tuition fees are calculated based on the 2023 ISEE value with special subsidies in relation to the right to higher education. First year students with an ISEE value up to a specific threshold benefit from full exemption; the relevant ISEE threshold will be released by the end of May 2023. Above this limit, tuition fees are calculated progressively.

The ISEE value must be submitted, even if you have not enrolled in the Degree Programme, by 30 October 2023, at 6:00pm (or by 15 November 2023, at 6:00pm, paying a €100 penalty) accessing ER-GO Online Services, alternatively you will have to pay the full amount.

If you are an international student, verify how your tuition fees will be calculated according to your country of origin and the country where your family has income and assets.

Matriculation

After you have checked that all the admission requirements have been met, you can enrol on Studenti Online:

fill in the application for matriculation with the required information and attach a passport photo in digital format;
pay the first instalment of your tuition fees;
follow the instructions to complete the procedure which you will find on Studenti Online according to your profile.
