6611 - Business Economics
Business consultant
Function in a professional context:
A professional working in the company or on a freelance basis, supporting the company as a manager, accounting, administrative and legal consultant. They also manage problems relating to management control, marketing, programming and finance.
These professionals:
- analyse and draft analytical accounts;
- draft financial statements;
- perform tax controls;
- draft management reports;
- analyse documents and reports;
- analyse and control economic and financial trends using technological innovation tools and artificial intelligence;
- monitor the assets and financial situation of the company, including the use of liquidity;
- cooperate in the supervision of business and production processes;
- plan marketing, operational and financial choices;
- organise and manage human resources;
- plan and develops the distribution of goods and services.
Competencies associated to the function:
Specific knowledge and skills in economics and business, management, organisation, law, finance, accounting and auditing are required to perform the above functions. Business Economics graduates shall have in-depth knowledge of accounting and budget analysis; they shall be familiar with modern management techniques and development strategies for the company's production processes; they shall have acquired competences in business management, organisation and marketing alongside in-depth knowledge of private, commercial and tax law.

- companies in the hospitality, travel and tourism industry
Business Economics graduates can work on a freelance basis as accounts experts and labour consultants. For this purpose they must perform a traineeship and then sit the state exam to be able to register with the related association. Similarly, after the traineeship they can sit the exam to become a statutory auditor, undertaking the profession on a freelance basis or working for an auditing firm.
They can also carry out research within local bodies, public administrations, companies, trade unions and professional associations, national and international research institutes, particularly in the EU.
Business Economics graduates may also continue their studies to second cycle level.
