Recruitment agencies

The University of Bologna independently manages student admissions to degree programmes and the awarding of Unibo Action 2 study grants and Unibo Action 1 tuition fee waivers. Further benefits are granted by Er.Go. In doing so, the University does not make use of agencies or recruiters based abroad

All personnel and offices of the University of Bologna communicate exclusively through email addresses.  Any other email addresses (i.e. ones that do not end in, such as, etc) do not come from personnel or offices of the University of Bologna.

If you receive a message from email addresses, please promptly forward it to for verification. 

The University of Bologna and Er.Go do not require advanced payments in order to award grants or other benefits.

If you wish to verify the authenticity of an admission letter, study grant or another benefit allocation letter, please contact internationaldesk@unibo.itand enclose a copy of the letter.

Pre-enrolment for students with non-EU citizenship

If you are a non EU citizen living outside Italy, in addition to compliance with the rules and deadlines established by the University of Bologna, you must pre-enrol at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your country.

Study grants and financial aid

The University of Bologna offers to deserving international students who wish to register for First Cycle Degree Programmes at the University of Bologna for A.Y. 2019/20:

The study grants and the tuition fee waivers are assigned on the basis of SAT , for one academic year.

Timing and methods:

  • Publication of the call for applications: 31th January 2019
  • Applications deadline: 30th April 2019, at 12pm
  • Publication of results: May 2019

Important: you must take the SAT test by the application deadline. The only upcoming date to take the SAT outside the U.S.A. is 9th March 2019, with registration deadline on 8th February 2019.

University students may obtain economic support during their studies from the Emilia Romagna Region, the University of Bologna and other external bodies.
