Second Cycle Degree/Two Year Master in Aerospace Engineering

Final examination: modalities, requirements and deadlines

To graduate, you have to sit a final examination designed to verify that you have reached the education objectives set by the Degree Programme.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ADMISSION TO THE FINAL EXAMINATION

The final examination consists of writing a thesis on a topic consistent with your field of study. It might be related to the work carried out during the Internship for Thesis Preparation. The thesis must be developed under the supervision of a faculty advisor.
It will then be publicly discussed during a dedicated session in front of an Examination Committee that will assess your work. The presentation will be carried out in English and you may use slides to illustrate your work. The Committee may ask you in-depth questions concerning the methodology, results, and potential developments of your work.

The presentation time is as follows:

- Standard thesis: 15 minutes (including questions)

- Major Master’s Thesis: 20 minutes (including questions)

For more information regarding Major Master’s Thesis, please consult the dedicated section.

Students who have carried out their internship in laboratories of the University of Bologna or external laboratories, are advised to check whether official presentation slide templates are available. If no specific guidelines or templates are provided, students are free to choose their own slides layout, provided that it remains formal.

However, for the Thesis document, stricter formatting rules apply. Those can be found inside the “Thesis drafting and layout” attachment.
