The Space Generation Advisory Commitee (SGAC) is looking for students and young professionals to present their ideas to the space community and to help us find asteroids.
The Space Generation Advisory Council, an organisation dedicated to representing the next generation of space leaders, is proud to announce three competitions that will allow the winners to attend and present their ideas at the 2013 Space Generation Congress.
The Space Generation Congress, to be held September 19-21, in conjunction with the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Beijing, China, is a three-day event where students and young professionals will gather to work on responses of the next generation of space sector leaders to key space issues.
SGAC is presenting three paper competitions, the prizes of which include scholarships towards travel expenses to attend both SGC and IAC:
The competition challenges students and young professionals worldwide to come up with original ideas relating to Near Earth Objects telling us how to detect, deflect, explore, or commercially exploit an asteroid heading toward Earth.
The competition challenges young minds to think about the future, past and present of Entrepreneurship and Investment within the Space Sector and submit their views and analysis to this competition
The competition aims to challenge entrants to submit a technical paper for a new and innovative technical concept for Space Solar Power (SSP). SSP, in its typical implementation and for the purposes of this competition, is the idea of transmitting power harvested from the sun in space down to Earth.
Please see the attached SGC Competitions flyer for more information.
SGAC is also proud to announce the 2013 Find An Asteroid Campaign, which gives students and young professionals the opportunity to be directly involved in the search for asteroids in our solar system. More information can be found in the attached Find An Asteroid flyer.
SGAC would pleased if you can share these competitions among your students, given the opportunity to attend to SGC and IAC in Beijing. Moreover, the 2013 "Find An Asteroid Campaign" give people the opportunity to actively collaborate in the planetary defense.
