Degree programme presentation

The teaching staff of the Master of Science in Animal Biotechnology includes 26 professors belonging to the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna. All CdS teachers carry out high-level research activities in specific fields and the courses provided, based on the teacher’s research activity, are then updated to the national and international context. 

The course of study provides a unique path suitable for students from a bachelor’s degree in biology, biotechnology and animal production. 

The course is divided into: 

• A first year during which the student acquires advanced skills related to molecular biology, biotechnology applied to reproduction, regenerative medicine, food biochemistry, pathology and veterinary oncogenesis;
• A second year to broaden knowledge of the aspects of genomics, biotechnology of nutrition, biomolecular methods applied to communicable diseases, drugs and gene therapy, food safety for humans, pathological anatomy of laboratory animals.
