The Master's degree brings the study of the past and heritage to the future. With innovative options, designed specifically for this degree and dealing with aspects as diverse as critical archaeology, landscape, digital tools, and heritage studies, it provides students with all the skills needed to successfully forge their path within the professional sector and the international academic one alike.

What will you study?

The programme delves into various facets of Archaeology: Landscape Studies, Theory, Network and Mobility, Digital approaches, Ancient and Medieval Production. It covers theoretical and political themes like Critical Archaeology, Colonialism, and legal aspects including Cultural Policy and Heritage Legislation. Communication skills, including Research Design and Dissemination, are also emphasized.

Experiences abroad

Archaeological excavations and field research are geographically located in some of the most important archaeological sites in the world: Mediterranean, Near East, Central Asia. Field research is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European programs. Research opportunities include also traineeship as well as participation to international projects.

I first came in Bologna with the Erasmus program, but after that period I understood that I had so much more to gain and to give yet, by studying here. So I enrolled in the Master degree in Archaeology and I built here the first chapter of my professional life.
