Information on how to prepare and present a study plan.
The study plan is the list of all the exams you are required to take in order to graduate. Some exams are compulsory, while others are elective.
Since the 1st year of LMAEM, you are required to make some choices and fill in your individual study plan on Studenti Online. Your study plan needs to be filled and submitted within certain periods in the year, and anyway before sitting the exams.
To fill in your study plan, you will have to be in line with your tuition fees payments and, if you are a non-EU citizen, to hold a valid residence permit.
A study plan can be presented by properly enrolled students who have paid their tuition fees and, in the case of international students, who hold a valid residence permit.
You can present and amend your study plan in two periods during the academic year.
The open windows for the 2026/2027 AY are:
1st period:
- from 1st October to 7th November 2026
- from the 1st to the 12th of December 2026 exclusively for enrolling students or students transferring from another university
2nd period: from 12th January to 19th February 2027
It is possible to edit your Study Plan by adding or deleting courses in the two periods indicated. Please make sure that all the courses/teaching activities you are going to be marked for are actually included in your online study plan.
No exceptions to these intervals are possible.
Following expiry of the deadlines, the last study plan presented will be deemed valid and no further amendments will be possible.
The study plan can be presented via Online Student Services portal, by logging in with your University credentials. You can complete or modify your study plan if you are an enrolled student who needs to:
complete the study plan with elective courses;
modify choices made in previous academic years.
You may also choose educational activities offered by the University, subject to approval by the Coordinator of your degree programme (see the guidelines in the attachments). You will not be able to select educational activities belonging to degree programmes with restricted enrolment.
After making your choices, remember to click “Save” so that your study plan can be correctly submitted. The completed study plan will be visible immediately after completing the online procedure.
We also recommend that you always print a copy of your completed study plan. In fact, this copy represents the only means of verification in the event of any formal or substantive irregularities that may occur after the plan has been uploaded.
You may submit a paper version of your study plan only if you are unable to complete the study plan online or if you wish to choose courses belonging to degree programmes with restricted enrolment. In this case, please use the form provided in the attachment. The form must be completed correctly in all its sections and sent from your institutional email address to didatticascaravilli.studenti@unibo.it in PDF format.
In the subject line, you must indicate your first name, surname, student ID number, and degree programme.
Most of the courses are mandatory, so you will find them automatically in your study plan.

If you select elective courses from those specified by your degree programme, no further assessment is required. The Study Plan will be automatically approved and added to the student’s academic record.
If you select an educational activity offered by the University, you will need to wait for approval from the Coordinator of your degree programme, who may approve or reject your request.
Only courses taught or training activities conducted in English are permitted.
PLEASE NOTE: Students enrolled for the academic year 2025/26 in the 2nd year and students outside prescribed time can change their plan ONLY in case they finalize their enrollment for the academic year 2026/27, paying the relevant fees. If you opt for this option, be aware that you will NOT be able to graduate during March 2027 graduation session (the last session of the 2025/26 academic year) and will therefore only be able to graduate from July 2027, the first session of the 2026/27 academic year.
