Instructions to complete the matriculation procedure

Once you have completed your application for enrolment and paid the tuition fees, you will find further information on Studenti Online on how to validate your digital identity, activate your career and obtain your badge.

The instructions, according to your profile, are given below:

Digital Identity

What does it mean?

Validating your digital identity means associating your name.surname@studio.unibo.it account with the information you provided during the enrolment procedure.

What do I need to do?

Your digital identity will be automatically validated, without you having to do anything, if one of the following cases applies:

-if you hold SPID credentials and have used them to access Studenti Online at least once;

-if you matriculated at the University of Bologna and were enrolled in a degree programme after 2004;

-if you took a written or oral exam, also remotely, at the University of Bologna (except for TOLC tests and national competitive exams).

If none of the cases above apply to you and you cannot obtain SPID because you are underage or live abroad, please contact the Student Administration Office in Cesena (segcesena@unibo.it).

If you are an international student and hold a foreign qualification please contact the Student Administration Office (segcesena@unibo.it).

Career activation and badge

What does it mean?

By activating your career, you will be able to use services (e.g. study plan, booking exams, accessing the Wi-Fi network and online library resources) and carry out certain activities (e.g. changing course, moving to another university, withdrawing from your studies). Once your career is activated, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to obtain your badge.

You will still be able to use the Presente app (to manage your class attendance) and follow classes remotely even if your career has not been activated yet.

What do I need to do?

Your career will be automatically validated, without you having to do anything, and you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to obtain your badge, except for the following cases:

  • If you are a student with a disability and have a recognised disability equal to or greater than 66%, or if you have a disability certificate pursuant to the Italian Law no. 104/92: in order to be eligible for exemption from paying tuition fees, you must e-mail the certificate attesting your condition to the Student Administration Office;
  •  if you want to ask for recognition of previous studies: check what you need to do;
  • if you are a non-EU citizen with EU equivalent status and you obtained your qualification in Italy: you have to email a copy of your residence permit, qualifying you for EU equivalent status, to the Student Administration office (of your degree programme or Campus);
  •  if you have a foreign qualification: you will need to check the detailed information, follow the instructions and upload the listed documents to Studenti Online(in the “Calls” section, by selecting “Upload documents for international students and students with foreign qualification”), by 28 February 2023.

Upon your arrival in Italy you will need to book an appointment at the Campus Student Administration office to show the originals of the listed documents;

  • if you are non-EU citizen with EU equivalent status and you have a foreign qualification: you have to upload, in addition to your study documents, a copy of your valid residence permit, qualifying you for the EU equivalent status, to Studenti Online (in the “Calls” section, select “Upload documents for international students and students with foreign qualification”, by Ferbuary 28th 2023);
  •  if you are a non-EU citizen with residency abroad and you have a foreign qualification, you will need to check the detailed information and upload, in addition to your study documents, a copy of your entry visa for study purposes (or the “Studente” residence permit, if you have already obtained it), to Studenti Online (in the “Calls” section, select “Upload documents for international students and students with foreign qualification”). At your appointment at the Student Administration Office, you will receive a certificate of enrolment, to be used to apply for a residence permit for study purposes (“Studente”). You must subsequently send the receipt proving that you have applied for a residence permit to the Campus Student Administration office. Please note that until you send your residence permit for study purposes your enrolment is conditional, subject to the acquisition of the residence permit.
