Check here the information for Outgoing students.
The study plan includes some mandatory and specialization courses, electives, and an internship abroad. The thesis preparation and discussion will be carried out exclusively at the University of Bologna after the mobility period.
The study plan is outlined as follows:
Specializations are offered in three campuses: Nancy, Paris, and Berlin.
Double Degree students can choose any specialization they wish, but they need to know that the number of places available for the specializations carried out at Paris and Berlin campuses is limited.
The entire program, structured by core courses and specialization courses, is completely offered by each master course.
Attached to this page, you can find the specializations catalogue offered for A.Y 2024/2025.
Please note: The catalogue is subject to change, and some courses might not be active if there aren’t enough enrolled students
The students admitted to participate in the double degree programme with ICN Business School, before departure, have to:
Note: in order to submit the Learning Agreement, it is necessary to create a SINGLE equivalence group in which to compile on one side all the courses to be carried out abroad (45 ECTS) and on the other side all the activities of the second year, including 12 ECTS of elective internship, but excluding the final dissertation. Please find below an example:

Total ECTS: 42 |
It is mandatory to complete the activities planned at ICN Business School for a total of 45 ECTS, including the internship, before September, under penalty of losing the possibility of obtaining the title from ICN (the thesis preparation and discussion are not included in the activities to be carried out at ICN Business School because they are to be completed at the University of Bologna).
The internship should be preferably concluded and its report submitted before the end of the summer. Double Degree students need to keep in mind that ICN’s Jury generally reunites in the months of July, November, and February for the approval of the internship and seminar.
In order to participate in the graduation ceremony, which takes generally place in February and July, ICN shall receive the student's graduation certificate from the University of Bologna before the beginning of November. Students graduating from the University of Bologna after the November Jury will have to wait for the next ceremony.
Furthermore, Double Degree students who graduate at Univeristy of Bologna after ICN’s Jury in November will have to register (without cost) for an extra semester at ICN Business School called “PGE+3”.
Relevant information regarding the internship:
- student is responsible for independently searching for the internship.
- several former students have reported difficulties in finding an internship, especially for those who do not speak French or lack professional experience.
- internship can be carried out anywhere; HOWEVER, if it is carried out in Italy or a country outside the EU, it will be necessary to interrupt the Erasmus exchange. This implies that the scholarship for the internship period will be lost (and the amount advanced will need to be refunded), and the exchange can continue as a double degree student without a scholarship.
- internship is activated directly by ICN through their procedures and agreement.
- Upon completing the 45 credits, internship and seminar included, following the Jury (in July or November), ICN will issue the updated transcript;
- it will then be necessary to request the recognition of activities carried out at the foreign institution;
The recognition request has to be submitted on https//almarm.unibo.it.
To initiate the request, it is firstly necessary to send the transcript to didatticaforli.em.info@unibo.it to request an update of the academic record with exams taken abroad.
After the student office has updated the record, students receive a notification and can proceed with the recognition request. In particular, it is necessary to:
- delete the single equivalence group that was previously created without asking for recognition;
- create a new correspondence group for each exam carried out abroad. Within each group, the exam taken abroad should be listed identically in both the left column (exam taken) and the right column (exam to be recognized). Consequently, as many correspondence groups as exams taken must be created, resulting in a total of 45 ECTS earned and 45 ECTS credits to be recognized.
- recognition approval must be obtained from the first relevant student affairs committee, which convenes monthly.
- the conversion of grades is approved by the Student Committee, based on the proposal of the exchange program coordinator, Professor Giulio Ecchia, following the ECTS grading scale of the University of Bologna .
- please find attached the ICN ECTS table (though it may be subject to annual updates).
- following the committee's decision, the student affairs office will update the academic record with the exams taken abroad to ensure that the student has all examinations recorded before graduation, in accordance with the deadlines specified in the academic calendar.
To fulfill the graduation requirements, it is also mandatory to submit a graduation application according to the procedures and timelines outlined by the academic program. Additionally, the final examination (thesis) must be discussed (prepared exclusively at UniBo with a UniBo supervisor) following the graduation schedule.
- Subsequently, the student must send the University of Bologna graduation certificate to ICN to request the issuance of the French degree.
- Finally, for the release of the University of Bologna diploma, it is necessary to provide the student office with a copy of the ICN diploma.
