This seminar will disclose insights of Wave Energy Conversion. Starting with its history and development until present times. Theoretical basis will be set and different working principles will be addressed and analyzed. The main drawbacks that cause this technology’s difficulties for commercial development will be tackled. The current situation worldwide will be thoroughly described paying special attention the Mediterranean Sea area. Finally, the Unibo patent pending device named the MoonWEC will be presented, pointing to its advantages with respect to other competitors and showing its development stage.
