Second Cycle Degree/Two Year Master in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology

Agreement between the University of Bologna and Hogskolan Dalarna (Sweden)

Possibility of Master's degree in African Studies at Hogskolan Dalarna (Sweden)

The framework agreement between the University of Bologna and Dalarna University, Sweden, offers students enrolled in the Master's degree courses in History and Oriental Studies and Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology the opportunity to dedicate the second year of their course to the study of the African continent. At the end of the course, with the acquisition of 60 credits, the student obtains a ‘double title’: in addition to the Master's degree, a first-level Master's degree in African Studies. The Master's degree is hosted at the Dalarna University Centre for African Studies (DUCAS), a research and teaching centre on Africa that collaborates with 25 international partners in Europe and Africa. Thanks to the collaboration of professors from partner universities, the Master in African Studies offers multidisciplinary teaching in a distinctly international context. The courses offered allow students to delve into the history, cultures, religions, politics and economics of the African continent, as well as to study issues related to gender, human rights and education in Africa. At the end of the course, the student develops an in-depth knowledge and critical ability to analyse different aspects of African economies, cultures and societies, which prepares him/her for professions in NGOs, international organisations, cultural associations, etc. The language of instruction is English.

The selection for the Master's programme is made every year within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.
