What is it?
An internship allows you to gain practical experience that complements your university education by carrying out activities at companies or institutions.
Types of Internships Available in the Program
- Curricular Internship (optional): 6 CFU (150 hours)
- Internship Abroad in Preparation for the Final Thesis (optional): 6 CFU (150 hours)
When Can You Apply for an Internship?
You can submit your internship application:
- For both types, starting from the second year, after selecting the activity in your study plan.
Note: If you are applying for an internship related to your final thesis, you must have already agreed on a thesis topic with a supervisor, who will guide you through your internship process. You must ask your supervisor for an approval email regarding the internship activities, which you will attach along with your CV when submitting your online application.
For both types of internships, you must select one of the following tutors when submitting your application in the internship database: Prof. Francesca Sbardella or Prof. Davide Dainese.
How to Find the Right Internship Opportunity
The first step is to prepare an effective application, consisting of a CV and motivation letter. You can use university services and dedicated workshops to help you. Check the Job Placement website for guidance.
Important Notes:
- The internship cannot be carried out at a structure where the legal representative, partner, or responsible manager has a family or affinity relationship up to the second degree with the applying student.
- Curricular internships (including those in preparation for the final thesis) must be completed in person. However, the internship committee may authorize remote or hybrid internships after evaluating the project.
How to Apply for an Internship
Companies and institutions that have agreements with the university publish their internship offers on the Online Internship Service (SOL-Tirocini). You can:
- View and apply for posted offers;
- Browse the list of affiliated companies and contact those of interest to check if they can host you as an intern. If they confirm availability, you will submit a self-application.
Once the company accepts your application, go to SOL-Tirocini and:
- Follow the guided procedure, which will be sent to your university email;
- Download the attendance log from SOL-Tirocini, where you will find the authorized internship period.
Important:
Before starting your internship, ensure that you have completed the mandatory workplace safety and health training (Module 1 and Module 2). The host institution is responsible for verifying your training certificates.

- Download the attendance log from SOL-Tirocini, which contains the authorized internship period.
Important:
