Programme enrolment: requirements, deadlines and methods

ATTENTION:

Should the current epidemiological emergency from COVID-19 continue until next academic year, the regular implementation of the activities of the Degree Programme will be in any case guaranteed.

Only if the in-class activities will result impossible to implement, they will be organised online.

FASHION STUDIES (code 9067)

University of Bologna

 

The 2nd cycle degree programme in “Fashion Studies” (FAST) is an open access degree programme with assessment of personal competencies and skills.

The language of teaching is English.

TUITION FEES

The maximum tuition fee amount for the a.y. 2020/2021 (1st year of enrollment) is 3,727.64 Euro. The amount for the 2nd year of enrollment will be similar. You can apply to have your tuition fee calculated, based on your economic situation: www.unibo.it/tuitionfees.

HOW TO APPLY

Access to the degree programme depends on a check on the satisfaction of specific curricula and personal preparation requirements. Failure to pass the verification process precludes enrolment for the course.

 

Read the attached Call for Applications carefully to understand the requirements, the procedures and the deadlines for carrying out the check of curricula and personal preparation requirements.

 

If you graduated from a University of Bologna degree programme you can check if you satisfy the curricula requirements by accessing Studenti online:

  1. Select “Degree with exams, dates and grades” from the “Certificates and self-certifications” section and then select “self-certifications”.
  2. Download the list of all exams sat during the previous curriculum followed, together with the related University educational credits and corresponding subject groups.
  3. Examine your University career on your own and compare your career with the access requirements.
  4. Access Studenti online and complete the "self-certification of access requirements” form in the Matriculation section.

If you graduated from another Italian University, you can check if you satisfy the curricula requirements by downloading from the website of your previous University the career self-certification form, as well as the list of all exams sat during the previous curriculum followed, together with the related University educational credits and corresponding subject groups. If your University does not have an online self-certification form, complete the "declaration in lieu of certification" form available from Studenti online.

To check the required access and linguistic skills, follow the procedure indicated in the Call for Applications and submit the information requested.

*Non-EU applicants, unless they have equivalent status with the EU applicants, can apply for the intake D only under condition they have already successfully submitted their pre-enrollment application at the Italian Embassy/Consulate in their home country within the due date (deadlines to be checked at the Italian Embassy/Consulate). The application must be attested by submitting on Studenti Online a copy of the Form A (the Pre-enrollment Application Form for non-EU citizens living outside Italy) duly validated by the Italian Embassy/Consulate of reference (see the paragraph: required documents).

** Non-EU applicants can apply for the Intake E only if they have equivalent status with the EU applicants.

 

Candidates evaluated as eligible following a successful interview are required to matriculate by the deadlines established by the University of Bologna (with payment of progressive additional charges, following the deadlines and procedures indicated on the UniBO website: http://www.unibo.it/en/teaching/enrolment-transfer-and-final-examination/tuition-fees-and-exemptions/deadlines-and-fines-for-late-payments).

 

N.B. If you are evaluated as non-eligible in the interview, you could not enroll to the programme nor apply to subsequent intakes for the academic year 2020/21.

ENGLISH LEVEL TEST 

Applicants not in possession of one of the suitable language certifications indicated in the Call for Applications can participate in the English B2 level test organized by the University’s Language Centre. 

The English B2 Test will take place online on Wednesday, July 8th 2020 at 9:00 A.M. (Italian time). Therefore, the test is only available for candidates applying to the intakes D and E.

To enroll in the test please send an email to cdlm.fashion@unibo.it stating your name and surname, no later than Wednesday, July 1st 2020. If you already have a @studio.unibo.it email address, please send your request from it.

The maximum number of places available is 40.

The test is carried out online using Zoom. To participate you need to connect to a PC or laptop equipped with webcam and microphone. Only if an equipped PC or laptop is not available, you can carry out the test with a tablet + a smartphone. Without this IT equipment it is not possible to take the test. The access procedures for to the test will be sent to the students enrolled shortly before the test date. The procedure will be sent to the institutional email address @studio.unibo.it or, for non UniBO students, to the personal e-mail address indicated.

The assessment includes multiple choice grammar questions, a short "gap-fill" exercise and multiple choice comprehension questions, based on the understanding of short written and audio dialogues. The duration is 60 minutes.

N.B. The test is only targeted on admission: no language certification will be released.

Matriculation

After you have checked that all the admission requirements have been met, you can enrol on Studenti online:

  1. complete the application for matriculation with the required data and attach an ID photograph in digital format;
  2. pay the first instalment of tuition fees.
  3. Follow the instructions to complete the procedure and receive your badge

Remember that to complete matriculation

a) if you are a non-EU citizen with EU equivalent status, you need to send a copy of the valid residence permit giving you EU equivalent status to the responsible Student Administration Office;

b) if you are a non-EU citizen residing abroad, see the detailed information. You will need to send to the responsible Student Administration Office a copy of your valid residence permit or, if your residence permit has not yet been issued, a copy of your study entry visa and subsequently a copy of the receipt confirming submission of your application, with which your matriculation will be accepted subject to verification;

c) if you have a degree obtained abroad, see the detailed information. You will need to send the degree documentation to the responsible Student Administration Office.

If you have a disability with an assessed level of invalidity of at least 66%, or you hold disability certification in accordance with Italian law 104/92, you can request exemption by sending the certificate proving the condition to the email address of the responsible Student Administration Office
