Welcome Events & Introductive Activities 2019/20 - 1st year students

September - November 2019

In the 1st period of the A. Y. 2019/20 Fashion Studies organises a series of Welcome events and Introductive lessons addressed to the 1st year students.

The attendance is not compulsory but it is strongly recommended. Please find the calendar below.

Welcome Day - 27 September 2019

The Welcome Day of Fashion Studies will take place on September 27th, Classroom Briolini 4, d’Augusto 237 - Rimini. It will be the first appointment of the academic year.

  • 11:00 AM Welcome speech and presentation of the Degree Programme by Prof. Ines Tolic (Head of the subject: “Places and Spaces of Contemporary Architecture”);
  • 11:15 AM Welcome address and presentation of the administrative staff by Dr. Andrea Canu (Programme Coordinator of FAST);
  • 11:30 AM Welcome address by the Dr. Emanuela Barbapiccola (Degree Programme Tutor of FAST);
  • 11:45 AM Presentation of the FAST Buddies and Welcome aperitif;
  • 12:15 AM Buddy Campus Tour (Rimini Campus Tour with the Tutor of FAST and some of the students enrolled in the previous years).

In the evening you are invited to the Night of the Researchers, taking place in multiple locations across the city.

Presentation of the Rimini Campus services - 30 September 2019


On September 30th,  Classroom Briolini d’Augusto 237 - Rimini we will present the services of the Rimini Campus, with the representatives of some of the offices. The meeting will involve the 1st year students of 4 different Degree Programmes.


  • 9:30 AM Susanne Zaghini (International Relations Office);

  • 10:00 AM Question time: the Programme Coordinators of the 4 Degree Programmes will be available for any questions from the students;

Rimini Campus Day - 10 October 2019


The Welcome Day of the Rimini Campus (for all the 1st year students of the Campus) will take place on October 10th. Here is the full programme of the event.

Introduction to FCM - 18 October 2019


The aim of this meeting is to introduce the Degree Programme from a more “operational” point of view. We will discuss topics like: how to prepare the study plan, how lessons and exams work, etc. The meeting will take place on October 18th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Classroom Briolini 5, d’Augusto 237 – Rimini, and it will be attended by Prof. Roy Menarini (Programme Director of FAST), Dr. Andrea Canu and Dr. Emanuela Barbapiccola.

Exhibition "Transfashional" - Opening: 26 October 2019

The exhibition Transfashional, after the previous appointment in London, Warsaw, Vienna and Kalmar, opens at the Modern Hall of the City Museum of Rimini,  Via Cavalieri 22, Rimini, on October 26th 2019 at 6 PM.

On the same day, the designer and researcher Aliki van der Kruijs will attend a talk and encounter with the audience on the project Made by Rain. The event will take place at 4 PM at Sala degli Arazzi - City Museum of Rimini.

Transfashional will be in Rimini from October 27th 2019 to January 6th 2020.

During these lessons, you will have the opportunity to meet the tutors of the degree programme and to improve your knowledge of the fundamentals of a few selected subjects.

Visit to the Rimini Campus Branch Central Library

1st year students of FAST are invited to a tour of the Rimini Campus Branch Central Library, guided by the staff of the Library. The Tour will show facilities, resources and policies of the Library.

The following tours are planned:

  • Thursday 7 November 2019, 10 AM - 11 AM

The meeting point is at Reception 1 - Sala Biblioteca, Via Vittime Civili di Guerra 5 - Rimini.

Academic Writing

The Degree Programme has also activated the course Academic Writing, in order to improve the writing skills of the students, in the English language. The start date is 4 October 2019. Find here all the information.
