Second Cycle Degree/Two Year Master in History and Oriental Studies

Corso integrato italo-tedesco Bologna-Bielefeld – BiBoG

The programme is based on the principle of double mobility (two out of four semesters) at one or two of the recognised partner universities, leading to the award of a double or multiple degree.

Bielefeld University is one of the world's leading centres of historical research. The 'Bielefeld School' is not only a hallmark of recognition for modern, theoretically oriented historical research, but also a place of lively academic debate between lecturers, researchers, students and academics from other countries. Lecturer- and student-organised study groups, weekly colloquia as part of the Bielefeld Graduate School's Project of Excellence in History and Sociology, special research areas, and numerous international collaborations create a stimulating environment in which Master's students are encouraged to actively participate. The Master of Arts in History aims to train historians not only for the 'classic' fields of employment - museums, archives, universities, schools - but also for areas such as the media, public relations, foundations, education and knowledge management in companies.
