The programme covers ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary history, including cultural areas such as the Middle East, Asia and Africa. It combines different historical disciplines in a comprehensive view of world history, from its origins to the present day.

What will you study?

The topics range from political history to institutional structures, economic and settlement systems, legal systems, ideological, religious, cultural and gender aspects, intellectual history, history of colonisation and of cultural relations between Europe, Asia and Africa.
