The MA Programme has set up for you a brand-new Crash Course (20hrs): TOOLKIT FOR INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS, in December 2025.
This is intended as an intensive preparation needed to attend and pass with high proficiency our courses on economics of next semester: INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS (prof. Laura Bottazzi) and/or GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES (prof. Marco Casari).
Yet, the Crash Course is open to ALL students who might deem it necessary and useful to refresh their basics of International Economics.

Here is the LINK to the MS Teams as the Crash Course is blended: in presence and online.

Learning outcomes: The course aims to give students the basic quantitative methods and core concepts needed to understand key issues in trade, globalization, and monetary policy, drawing on fundamental elements from microeconomics, macroeconomics, and statistics. At the end of the course, students will have the principles and quantitative skills necessary to approach the major questions of international economics and to progress into more advanced courses.

Course contents: This course is intended to provide the basics and quantitative tools needed to approach many important macroeconomic questions, particularly those regarding trade, capital flows, and monetary issues. t introduces students to economic reasoning, focusing on the instruments and basic methodologies used by economists to discuss key issues in international trade and finance. Statistical and mathematical instruments are used throughout to strengthen intuition and provide a first step toward formal economic analysis.
At the end of the course, students will have a toolkit that will allow them to pursue their future studies in international economics more confidently.
