indicate the names of three workshops you would like to attend (number 1: your first choice,number 2: your second choice,number 3: your third choice) by writing to: alina.scudieri@unibo.it

We would like to inform you that the workshops for the Master’s degree Programme of International Relations will take place during the second semester.

 

Students will be assigned to each workshop taking into account the order of preferences expressed as well as the number of places available for each workshop.

 

For this reason, we  kindly ask you to indicate the names of three workshops you would like to attend (number 1: your first choice, number 2: your second choice, number 3: your third choice) by writing to dr. Alina Scudierialina.scudieri@unibo.it .

 

Please bear in mind that workshops 5, 6 and 7 listed below give access, for the next academic year, to the upper level workshop (8, 9, 10).

List of workshop for the second semester, A.Y. 2019/20:

 

WS1 (no limit)

Writing a constitution. Prof. Cindy Skach

This workshop will simulate a constitution writing experience.

 

- WS2 not active 2019-2020

 

WS3 (no limit)

EU Foreign Policy. Prof. Elena Baracani

This workshop will make students give presentations and write a paper on the topic.

 

WS4 (no limit)

Cybersecurity. Prof. Gabriele D’Angelo

This workshop offers a basic understanding of the main concepts and principles of computer and network security.

 

- WS5 (max 30)

Introduction to Big Data and Data Mining techniques. TBD

At the end of the course the student knows the main steps of a data processing pipeline,such as the  techniques for collecting, preprocessing, reducing and extracting meaning from data.

Gives access in 2020-2021 to WS8

Managing Big Data with SQL

At the end of the course the student knows:

·      how to manage a large amount of data

·      the basics of the SQL language

 

- WS6 (max 30)

Introduction to programming statistics in R. TBD

At the end of the course the student is able to use the main features of the R language and some    R packages to solve simple statistical problems and to visualize data.

Gives access in 2020-2021 to WS9

Statistical analysis of Big Data in R.

At the end of the course the student is able  perform some statistical analysis of Big Data using R tools.

 

- WS7 (max 30)

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence. Prof. Elena Loli Piccolomini

At the end of the course the student knows:

·      the basics of Artificial Intelligence

·      the main techniques used by Artificial Intelligence

·      applications of Artificial Intelligence in Social Sciences

Gives access in 2020-2021 to WS10

Machine Learning with Phyton

At the end of the course the student:

·      knows the basics of Phyton language

·      has experienced a simple neural network
