An internship is a flexible tool for training people who may work with you in the future as well as an essential experience for university students entering the world of work.
Companies and Institutions can accept students from the University of Bologna to carry out the internship activity as planned in their study programme.
Activating an internship does not involve any costs for the company, but the company may offer the intern an allowance or reimbursement of expenses.
In order to host a student as intern, the Company/Institution has to:
Once the intership agreement is signed by both parties,
or
Usually the signature of the agreement requires one week after the Company has registered in the Intership platform.
Once the company/institution accepts a student application, the internship can usually start after 15 working days.
The duration of a single internship depends on the number of credits required by the single degree to which the student is enrolled (25/30 hours for 1 CFU) and can take place within the period defined on the attendance register.
Therefore if the Programme includes e.g. a 10 credit internship option, it will translate into 250 hours of work.
The University of Bologna offers insurance cover for on-work injuries and third-party liability exclusively within the approved period indicated in the attendance record book.
For further information please consult the Insurance Policy webpage.
Should the student need to travel to locations not included in the approved programme, the student can ask for the extension of the insurance by contacting the Academic Tutor by mail (with the Internship Office and Tutor at the Host Institution in copy c/c) and wait for the authorization.
After completing the working hours of the internship, the contact person at the host organization should
