Language Requirements for accessing Erasmus+ Studio 2019/2020 - Bologna Office

A student enrolled to the courses of study and master's degrees of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Modern Cultures who applies for the Erasmus+ Studio call for the a.y. 2019/20 is exempted from taking the compulsory test which is provided by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA), if:

  • at the date of 20 February 2019 he/she has taken and recorded in AlmaEsami at least one exam in the language required by the exchange;
  • he/she holds a language certificate, among those specified in the Announcement, equal to or higher than level B1 (CEFR), obtained within the two years prior the deadline of the Announcement;
  • for exchanges that require English or German, he/she has passed the English placement test or the German placement test. It is the responsibility of the offices to verify that the test has really been passed;
  • at the date of 20 February 2019, although he/she has not yet taken an examination in the language required by the exchange, he/she has included it in his study plan. This also includes those who apply for an exchange whose language of reference is not among those tested by the CLA (eg. a student who intends to go to Finland and follow the lessons in Finnish). If the student has only taken a part of the exam (e.g. only the exercises) and therefore has not yet recorded it, it is advisable to communicate it to the teacher for evaluation purposes;

  • the exchange requires a specific language interview with the responsible teacher.

N.B. If the student falls within the above mentioned cases of exemption, he/she must fill in the appropriate form (which can be found in the "Attachments" section of this page) and upload it with the application in AlmaRM, so that the teacher responsible for the exchange can assess it.

Attention: for students who do not meet any of the above requirements, it is mandatory to take the CLA test because the assessment of language proficiency, for the teacher responsible for the exchange, is an important element of evaluation .

On the contrary, the following subjects do not fall within the cases of exemption mentioned above and therefore must satisfy the linguistic requirements of the Call for Proposals:

  • a student from another School/Department who plans to enrol in a Master's degree course of the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures and to carry out the period abroad with the option "carriera futura" (e.g. a student enrolled in a three-year course of Political Science who plans to start with a Master's degree in Languages);
  • a student enrolled in a degree or master's degree course of the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures who participates in an exchange program coordinated by a teacher from another School/Department, must meet the requirements of the School proposing the exchange.
