On November 27th, 2023, first-year LEGo students visited the Central-Northern Thyrrenean Sea Port Authority located in Civitavecchia (Rome) accompanied by Prof Massimiliano Musi (professor of Transport Regulation Law) and Prof Maria Rita Tagliaventi (LEGo programme director).

After receiving a warm welcome, the students had the opportunity to attend the performance of some port operations and thus to grasp how the port system is organized and what activities are carried out.

Mr Matteuzzi, Head of Port Operations and Public Domain Management, held a presentation on the topic of ‘The Legal Regime of Port Operations and the Legal Nature of Port Authorities’, through which our students had the chance to advance their understanding of the functioning of this body, and realize how legal, economic, and governance decisions are necessarily intertwined in the management of complex organizations. The visit also included the view of a short movie about the main scope and history of the Port Authority.

As faculty and staff, we are proud to offer our students such valuable opportunities to test practical applications of academic knowledge that bring to the fore the prominence of the interplay of law, economics, and governance undergirding LEGo master programme.
