Admission requirements
To profitably attend the 2nd Cycle Degree Programme in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology students should possess University Level Knowledge of:
- Mathematics and Physycs;
- Chemistry and Biochemistry;
- Cell and Molecular Biology;
- Genetics;
- Microbiology
Admission to the 2nd cycle degree programme in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology is subject to the possession of a three-year university degree or other suitable qualification obtained abroad.
Moreover, candidates must meet the curricular requirements and pass a test to assess their personal competences and skills.
Curricular requirements:
To access the 2nd Cycle Degree Programme in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology the following curricular requirements shall be satisfied:
- A first cycle degree in one of the following classes:
- ex Italian Ministerial Decree no. 270/04: Class L-2 Biotechnologies, Class L-13 Biology, Class L-29 Pharmacy, Class LM-13 Pharmacy and industrial pharmacy, Class L-27 Chemistry;
- ex. Italian Ministerial Decree no. 509/99: Class 1 Biotechnologies, Class 12 Biology, Class 24 Pharmacy, Class 14/S Pharmacy and industrial pharmacy, Class 21 Chemistry;
- Previous five-year degree programme system: Biotechnologies, Biology, Pharmacy and industrial pharmacy, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry;
- Foreign Degree which can be considered equivalent to the ones foreseen for students holding an Italian Degree
2. English Language knowledge, level B2 (or higher) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The admission to the Degree Programme is subject to the assessment of personal competences and skills, according to the modalities yearly defined in the Call for Applications.
Assessment of personal competences and skills
The assessment of personal preparation and skills will verify that the student’s knowledge are coherent with the curricular requirements, with particular reference to University Level Competencies in:
- Mathematics and Physics;
- Chemistry and Biochemistry;
- Cell and Molecular Biology;
- Genetics;
- Microbiology;
A specific Board will verify the assessment through a written and/or oral test. The Degree Programme Board will define the specific modalities annually and these will be published on the University Website.
English Language Assessment
To access the 2nd Cycle Degree Programme students should prove their English Language knowledge at a B2 (or higher) level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This should be certified in one of the following ways:
- through one of the certificates listed in the specific Chart (Tabella certificazioni equipollenti prova idoneità linguistica) available in the University of Bologna Linguistic Centre (CLA) website: http://www.cla.unibo.it/idoneita-linguistica/equipollenza-dei-titoli-1.
- a B2 English Language Test done in their previous Degree. This will be accepted if the B2 level (or higher) is clearly stated in the denomination of the teaching activity;
- Hold a Degree obtained in English. The document must state that the Degree Programme was held in English;
- English native speakers (i.e. English is their mother-tongue).
