On the occasion of the International Day of Light, the Italian Physical Society (SIF) and the Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (SIOF), promote the holding of events organized by young people and dedicated to their education, such as workshops, seminars and study days, particularly encouraging participation by students in Master's and Doctoral degree programs.
SIF or SIOF members, as well as members of student groups such as those of the European Physical Society, European Optical Society, Optica, SPIE, IEEE and Italian Association of Physics Students, are eligible to apply.
The activities should include the organization by the proposers of a day in the presence of a guest speaker from academia, research or industry on topics related to the International Day of Light, to be held on May 16 or immediately preceding/consequent days.
The maximum amount of the grant is €1,500 for guests with foreign affiliation and €1,000 for guests with Italian affiliation.
The deadline for applications is March 3, 2023.
