Quality Assurance Committee and other Committees

In order to carry out some of its functions, the Degree Programme Board is assisted by committees comprised of teachers involved in the programme. These committees are listed below, indicating their specific functions and contact persons.

Degree Programme Quality Assurance Committee (QA Committee)

This Committee is required by the University’s Quality Assurance System and is also referenced in the “Operating Rules of Degree Programmes at the University of Bologna.”

Composition

The Committee is chaired by the Degree Programme Director and includes lecturers who are members of the Degree Programme Board. Student representatives elected to the Board also participate in the Committee or, if none are elected, students enrolled in the programme who are appointed by the Board.

The new members of the Committee will be nominated as soon as possible during the first official meeting of the Degree Programme Board.

Functions

The Committee supports the Degree Programme Director in managing quality assurance procedures and promoting a culture of quality.

Degree programmes conduct self-assessments by analysing and monitoring their performance based on student feedback and specific indicators.

The activities must have measurable and documented outcomes. The self-assessment process facilitates the flow of information and knowledge management, also promoting transparency in the decision-making process and its implementation.

The documents produced by the QA Committee are designed to support discussions within the Degree Programme Board and with the Joint Student-Teacher Committee (Commissione Paritetica Docenti-Studenti), which operates within the Department to which the Degree Programme belongs.

Similarly to the Degree Programme Quality Assurance Committee, the Joint Committee plays a role in quality assurance procedures and in fostering a culture of quality.

Internship Committee

Functions

The Internship Committee is appointed by the Degree Programme Board and is responsible for: approving internship programmes; evaluating completed internships to allow the acquisition of the credits established by the degree programme regulations; proposing new organisations suitable to host interns; assessing requests for affiliation; and providing opinions on the early termination of agreements.

The members of the Committee will be nominated as soon as possible during the first official meeting of the Degree Programme Board.

Study Plan Committee

The Study Plan Committee assesses:

  • applications to change or transfer to the Degree Programme;
  • changes to the study plans of the students enrolled in the Degree Programme;
  • the admissibility of students who do not meet the admission requirements indicated in the Teaching regulation for the Degree Programme.

The members of the Committee will be nominated as soon as possible during the first official meeting of the Degree Programme Board.
