Politics administration and organization

The aim of the Politics, Administration andOrganisation second cycle degree programme is to train public policy analysts,public administration officers and specialists in human resources organisationand management. For this purpose, the degree programme provides training basedon sound methodological knowledge, both qualitative and quantitative, and onthe acquisition of specialist skills in the field of theory of organisation,political science, administrative science, sociology, industrial relations, andof welfare policies at a comparative level. The degree programme offers acurriculum which explores methodological aspects so that graduates are capableof processing and interpreting analytical models as well as of masteringadvanced data analysis techniques, and are familiar with occupational and grouppsychology techniques. In addition, English language training is provided withthe aim of achieving B2 level. A curriculum on the political and socialconsequences of globalisation processes will be activated, which will be taughtin English and will include course units on comparative politics andcomparative welfare policies, aimed at integrating politological andsociological knowledge.

Moreover, interdisciplinary teaching groupsare offered in order to provide the basic knowledge necessary to develop thecompetencies of the various professionals concerned: one focusing onadministrative science, one on organisation theory, and one on the study ofpolitical processes and welfare policies from an international and comparativepoint of view, which include course units on political science, sociology, andlaw and economics with a view to meeting specialisation requirements.

The learning outcomes of the degreeprogramme are also achieved through a wide range of related and integrativeactivities focused on comparative policy, public policies, political economyand sociology. In this way, students can pursue their own specific interestsand improve related knowledge.

Internships or workshops are planned as avocational tool and for applying the skills acquired.

The learning outcomes are achieved througha final examination, which consists in writing and presenting a dissertationthat allows students to use the knowledge acquired during the two year master,as well as their competencies acquired in terms of conducting researchindependently, in an original way.

Admission to the 2nd cycle degreeprogramme in Politics, Administration and Organisation is subject to thepossession in-depth knowledge of one of the following subject areas:anthropology, communication, culture, demography, economics, philosophy, geopolitics,law, literature, languages, politology, psychology, sociology, history, genderstudies.

Admission to the program is subject to the possession ofeither a five-year high school degree or other suitable qualification obtainedabroad. Additionally, candidates must meet the curricular requirements and passthe assessment of personal knowledge and skills.

Degree system according to D.M. 509/99:
The degree programme classes deemed equivalent to the Min. Dec. 270/04classes indicated above, pursuant to the Inter-ministerial Decree dated 9 July2009.

Degree systems prior to DM 509/99 and degrees obtained abroad:
A Board will assess the correspondence between the original subjectfields and the classes DM 270/04 indicated in this article.

For students in possession of a university degree obtained abroad, theBoard will proceed with the assessment, checking the candidate's knowledge andcompetencies on the basis of their previous academic career.

1.2 Assessment of personal competencies and skills
Admission to the master's degree programme requires candidates to passan assessment of personal competencies that will be held according to themethods defined in the degree programme teaching regulations.
English language skills are also required to at least CEFR level B1 forthe Italian curriculum and B2 for the English curriculum.
