Two Early Stage Researcher positions (ESR 11 and ESR 15) in Conservation/Conservation Science are available at The Haute Ecole Arc Conservation-restoration (Neuchâtel, Switzerland). The projects are part of CHANGE - Cultural Heritage Analysis for New Generations - European Union project H2020 research and innovation programme, Marie Sklodowska-Curie (www.change-itn.eu).

1. Early Stage Researcher (ESR 11), 100% from September 2019 to August 2022
This project focuses on the study of the formation of metal soaps on painted metal. The research team will develop a methodology based on multi-modal analyses for the assessment of the different factors related to the degradation processes.

2. Early Stage Researcher (ESR 15), 100% from September 2019 to August 2022
Imaging techniques will be used to detect and monitor in a non-invasive way either the early stage formation of oxide films and patina on historical metal artefacts or ageing of a superficial varnish covering them in combination with existing invasive techniques such as electrochemical / spectroscopic studies and examination of materials on cross-sections.
