The final examination consists in writing a dissertation on a subject pertinent to your studies, elaborated in an original way, under the guidance of a supervisor. The dissertation will be discussed publicly during a specific final examination session in front of a Board.
The Board will assess your performance using your curriculum as a reference, taking into consideration your track record, the international experiences (if held), the quality of the internships and the development of the final exam.
The defence of the thesis will last 15 minutes. During the dissertation discussion, you may use slides and the Board may ask you in-depth questions on methods, results and any developments of your work.
The final evaluation is based on grades out of 110. The Board can give a maximum of 8 points to the dissertation, which are added to the student's final average.
The final exam can be considered as passed with a minimum grade of 66/110.
In case of highest final grade (110/110) the Board, after a unanimous vote, can also assign full honours (“summa cum laude”).
