Melandri Award

Silvia Trevisani, MIREES alumna, received the Senatore Leonardo Melandri Award for the best MA thesis in the field of democratisation studies.

The prize, instituted by the University of Bologna at the initiative of the Centro Studi Leonardo Melandri, was awarded on 31 May 2018 at the School of Political Science, Forlì Campus.

Silvia’s thesis, “The Women’s Court: A feminist approach to justice in the post-Yugoslav space”, examines a specifically feminist and grassroots approach to restorative justice and democracy in former Yugoslavia and traces the transformation of the regional feminist movement. Silvia, supervised by Dr Bojan Bilić, defended her thesis in September 2017.
