This course will help students build core skills used in writing and editing English academic prose. Course modules will focus on improving common errors of mechanics, increasing sentence clarity, structuring arguments for maximum effectiveness, and learning formats for varied audiences. Students will learn practical rules for improving their prose and develop editing and revision skills. The course is intended for students who already write in English, but want to gain additional fluency in their prose. In addition to lectures, students will bring their own papers to class for peer review and workshopping.
