The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master course « Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry (ASC) » is a two year (120 ECTS) programme within5 European universities:

•University Alma Mater of Bologna, Italy;
•University of Helsinki, Finland;
•Jagiellonian University of Krakow, Poland;
•University of Leipzig, Germany;
•University Lille1, France (Coordinating institution)

providing students with a cross cultural education while getting acquainted with state-of-the-art spectroscopic techniques in a broad range of applications. The Programme will provide students with the expertise needed for a modern chemistry and prepare them for positions in various professional areas, such as, spectroscopic and analytical laboratories, manufacturers, and for research and management positions in chemical companies and enterprises. The programme is based on a mandatory mobility and releases a multiple degree. Several EC grants are available. Erasmus Mundus granted students have an obligation to study full-time.

The two-year curriculum includes common core courses (1st semester) at the University of Lille1 for all students. A mandatory mobility scheme of a minimum of one semester (30 ECTS) starts in the second semester. In the second year a more specialized instruction is provided in any of the five partner institutions.
