Purpose and distinctive traitsThe Degree Programme in Computer Science for Management aims to produce technical and professional experts in new information technology and new means of digital innovation, based on the automatic processing and communication of information, with the aim of implementing new and more effective strategies for the enhancement, exploitation, coordination and management of data, process planning and support to decision-making in the (corporate and public) production environment.The distinctive feature of technical/professional experts with an education in Computer Science for Management is that of a digital innovation manager and consultant, able to operate in production environments characterised by complex information systems, making the most of the potential of digital innovation and information and communication technologies, as well as of exploiting the value of digital data, facilitating the coordination, management of activities and processes, and economic/financial and business strategy within complex (public and private) production realities and markets.Learning outcomeThe degree programme initially provides knowledge of basic computer and mathematical methods, continuing with the in-depth study of the most advanced techniques and tools for the development of systems, computer complexes, and digital services for the processing and exploitation of data, and for the application of digital innovation solutions based on Information and Communication Technologies. These training elements are complemented by related economic and legal knowledge aimed at the effective strategic application of digital innovation in the production, economic, organisational and scientific spheres, developing the multi-disciplinary culture needed to apply, follow and also actively contribute to the evolution of the discipline.Training programmeAfter basic training in computer and mathematical sciences, the Degree Programme in Information Systems for Management is geared towards training students in a number of disciplines characterising the use of the most innovative tools and services based on Internet and the Web as well as on the organisation, communication and enhancement of digital data, and to experiment with most of the new information technologies through numerous laboratory experiences for the enhancement of digital innovation in society, production and the information economy.Related economic training is also provided, introducing topics related to economics, markets, strategy, business organisation and administration, and elements of law.These multi-disciplinary contents, studied in greater depth in second-cycle degrees, enable graduates to complete their training and find work immediately in jobs requiring both familiarity with information technology and the scientific method, and the ability to apply digital innovation in organisational, strategic and economic fields by means of computer systems for the organisation and communication of information and its processing.

Admission to the first cycle degree/bachelor programme in Information Systems for Management requires possession of a secondary school diploma awarded after five years of study or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable in accordance with current regulations.Additionally, skills and competencies in the following areas are required: good general knowledge; ability to reason logically and understand written texts; good knowledge of basic mathematics. The methods for verifying the knowledge required for admission are defined in the section on method of admission.If the assessment is not positive, additional learning requirements will be specified (OFA), the fulfilment of which is subject to specific assessment.Students who do not complete the additional learning requirements by the date established by the competent bodies and, in any case, by the end of the first year of the degree programme must repeat enrolment in the same year.
