UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW
A double degree programme in Statistical Sciences with the University of Glasgow has been established. Bologna students attending the degree programme in Statistical Sciences, curriculum Stats&Maths, can apply in order to be admitted to the double degree programme with the University of Glasgow in Scotland. They will spend their third year in Glasgow and if they successfully complete their studies they will obtain both the Laurea in Scienze Statistiche (L41) delivered by Bologna University and the Bachelor with Honors in Statistics delivered by Glasgow University. Glasgow students will attend our second year courses.
There are 5 positions available each year for the joint double degree programme. In order to be admitted to the double degree programme (reserved to Stats&Maths students) one must satisfy the criteria listed in the attachment “Double degree selection criteria”. The selection is based on the achievements of the students during the three semesters of the programme and it is carried out at the end of the first semester of the second year, in correspondence of the Erasmus selection period. The list of all possible destinations (including Glasgow) is usually published between January and February of each academic year on AlmaRM. A number of meetings will be scheduled during the second year of course to provide students with useful information on scholarships, application procedures and the general rules of the exchange.
The exchange takes place between September and May/June (9 months) of the third (and last) year of the programme.
Here is an updated list of the courses that the students will attend in Glasgow:
Students will have to take two out of these six courses:
During this year abroad students will also write their final thesis (Statistics Project), thus acquiring a total amount of 60 ECTS corresponding to the 60 CFU they would have to acquire in Bologna.
The professor in charge of the double degree exchange is Professor Angela Montanari (angela.montanari@unibo.it).
