Entrance Requirements

What qualification do you need

- five-year high school diploma;

- four-year high school diploma with additional year. In the event that the diploma is issued by institutions that did not provide for the supplementary year, contact the Student Secretariat;

- valid foreign qualification. See specific information.

If you are a non-EU citizen residing abroad, read the specific information.

Sit the test TOLC-SU

The CISIA Test (TOLC-SU) is also required to apply to the open-access History degree programmes. TOLC-SU is an orientation tool used to assess your initial abilities.

The TOLC-SU test can be taken at any of the Universities of the CISIA consortium; furthermore, CISIA provides TOLC@HOME home tests to allow students to take TOLCs without leaving their homes.

TOLC@HOME tests are provided to individual students through the CISIA platform using tools and technology that allow to create secure and controlled virtual classrooms in which candidates can be reliably identified and carry out their tests autonomously. Virtual classrooms are created and managed by universities in collaboration with CISIA. Information and instructions on the equipment required to take TOLC@HOME tests can be found on the CISIA website.

Remember that in order to sit the TOLC, it is necessary to register in advance of the date of the identified test (registration closes one week before the date of the test) and that it is possible to book up to the maximum number of places.

Check the calendar that is continuously updated.

TOLC can be repeated, but no more than once a month (calendar month).

As for open-access degree programmes, after taking the TOLC you can enrol in the degree programme of your choice. If your TOLC score is lower than the minimum requirement you will be assigned Additional Learning Requirements.

A score of at least 26 points out of 50 indicates you already possess the skills required for admission.

If the score you get in the test is under the threshold, you will be required to complete supplementary training (Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo - OFA).

If you are a student with disabilities or specific learning disabilities, you can take an adapted version of the test. See more information on the site for Services for students with special needs and SLD.

How to enroll in the Course

Take the TOLC-SU test

To take the TOLC-SU you have to:

- register on the CISIA website and select the TOLC-SU;

- choose the date and location to take the TOLC-SU and pay the € 30 fee payable by MAV or credit card.

At the end of the TOLC-SU you will be able to view and print the result from your profile on the CISIA website.

After taking the TOLC SU, you can enroll in the course according to the procedures and deadlines set and following the instructions contained in the admission notice.

Tuition Fee Amounts

Tuition fees are calculated based on the 2023 ISEE value with special subsidies in relation to the right to higher education. First year students with an ISEE value up to a specific threshold benefit from full exemption; the relevant ISEE threshold will be released by the end of May 2023. Above this limit, tuition fees are calculated progressively.

The ISEE value must be submitted, even if you have not enrolled in the Degree Programme, by 30 October 2023, at 6:00pm (or by 15 November 2023, at 6:00pm, paying a €100 penalty) accessing ER-GO Online Services, alternatively you will have to pay the full amount.

If you are an international student, verify how your tuition fees will be calculated according to your country of origin and the country where your family has income and assets.
