Credits in preparation for the Final Examination

Second year students must choose one of the proposed activities (15 CFU).

Students of the second year must choose one among the following activities related to their final master thesis project, which consists of 15 CFU.

The default option that students can include in their study plan is '84630 INTERNSHIP IN PREPARATION FOR THE FINAL EXAMINATION'.

The remaining choices require a change in the study plan, which must be approved by the Degree Programme Director, after discussion with the thesis supervisor(s). These changes cannot be carried out autonomously on Studenti Online, but they will require a manual intervention from the competent offices.

Available activities for the preparation for the final examination:

The available options are indicated below. Please note that, in any case, students must first discuss their thesis work with their Supervisor, who must always be a Unibo professor. Co-supervisors may be selected from other research institutes and universities.

  1. Internship in preparation for the final examination (default option): the master thesis work entails practical activities that will take place in Unibo laboratories or in research institutes/companies outside Unibo, in Italy. Students who wish to perform this kind of internship activity can find further information in the "Curricular Internship" page.
  2. Internship abroad in preparation for the final examination: the master thesis work entails practical activities that will take place in universities/research institutes/companies abroad. To obtain financial support, students are encouraged to apply for an international mobility programme. It is also possible to activate this kind of internship (with no financial support) by following the procedure indicated in the "Curricular Internship" page.
  3. Preparation abroad for the final examination: the master thesis activities will occur in research institutes and universities abroad. Students must apply for a specific study grant offered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy, or for an international mobility programme.
  4. Preparation for the final examination: your master thesis activities will occur within Unibo offices/libraries and do NOT entail any access to laboratories (not even in Unibo laboratories) for practical laboratory activities.
