All interested students (both undergraduate and master's) are invited to apply for a paid position lasting 2 months (June-July 2026) to collaborate on the scientific project "Breakthrough Listen," which involves the Sardinia Radio Telescope (SRT).
The research activity will take place in person at INAF - Osservatorio Astronomico di Cagliari, under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Melis and Dr. Maura Pilia, as well as in close synergy with scientific groups working with SRT and in collaboration with the teams from the University of Oxford and Berkeley (California). Despite the inevitable limitations due to the time zone, there will be regular online meetings with the UC Berkeley contacts and the other European teams.
The salary is 2,600 net euros per month to cover all expenses; in addition, all travel costs to and from Cagliari will be reimbursed (reimbursement methods will be provided when drawing up the contract with the selected students).
