Programme aims

The Master's Degree Programme in Business Administration and Sustainability provides students with an advanced economic-business education on logics, theories, methods and tools that managers, consultants and business executives can use in different industrial sectors.

The programme aims to provide students with an international perspective, to facilitate the opening or strengthening of the international presence of the companies in which they will work, with particular attention to environmental and human sustainability issues. The result is the acquisition of the knowledge, as well as the logic, methodologies and tools to undertake a managerial career in industrial and commercial enterprises, in public organisations, in service and consultancy companies, in research centres, also through the development of entrepreneurial aptitudes related to innovation and/or the start-up of new enterprises, especially in the agri-food sector. In particular, the programme develops skills related to entrepreneurship, business planning and business venturing.

The programme offers the opportunity to deepen the knowledge acquired in the three-year bachelor’s degree on economic-business subjects by extending it to economic and managerial aspects and to the dynamics of food systems and business-territory relations. Subsequently, specific principles and practices of management disciplines are deepened: planning and management of research and development projects at national and international level, strategic management and marketing, corporate finance, accounting and control, quality assurance, innovation management and development of entrepreneurial skills.

A qualifying feature of the advanced level of the degree course is the interdisciplinary nature of the problems and the integration of economic-business knowledge with purely economic, mathematical-statistical and legal knowledge, also with reference to the concepts of sustainability. Teaching is characterized by an active and participative approach, combining lectures - also offered by international lecturers - with the discussion of business cases, exercises, workshops, simulations of decision-making problems at company level, and testimonials from managers and company operators.
