5944 - Business Administration and Sustainability

The second-cycle/master's degree programmein Business Administration and Sustainability provides students with advancedeconomic-business administration training on the logics, theories, methods andtools that managers, consultants and business executives can use across all industries.

The programme aims to provide students withan international perspective, to support the businesses they will work for inpenetrating or strengthening their presence in international markets, withspecial attention to environmental and human sustainability. They will acquirethe knowledge together with the logics, methods and tools to start a managementcareer in industrial and commercial enterprises, public organisations,professional service and consulting firms, and research centres, also bydeveloping an entrepreneurial attitude towards innovation and/or newbusinesses, especially in the agrifood sector. For this purpose, in particular,the degree programme aims to develop entrepreneurship, business planning andbusiness venturing competencies.

The degree programme offers students theopportunity to deepen their knowledge of economic-business topics alreadyacquired in their previous academic career and expand it to encompass economicand management aspects, together with the dynamics that are peculiar to foodsystems and the business-territory relationship. Management-specific principlesand practices will then be explored: research-and-development project planningand management in a national and international context, strategic managementand marketing, corporate finance, accounting and control, quality assurance,innovation management and entrepreneurial skills development.

The interdisciplinary nature of theproblems and the integration of economic-business knowledge with purelyeconomic, mathematical-statistical and legal knowledge, also with reference tosustainability, is what makes this degree programme especially advanced. Theteaching activity takes a proactive and engaging approach, where traditionallectures (also by international professors) are supplemented by the discussionof business case studies, workshops with IT tools, business decision-makingsimulations, and first-hand accounts by managers and businesspeople.
