The specific outcomes of the 2nd cycle degree in Clinical Psychology are to provide:• updated knowledge of the main theories explaining normal psychological function and the main forms of psychopathological suffering, in the whole life cycle and in relation to different cultural models;• knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret the main clinimetric assessment tools (clinical interviews, questionnaires, inventories, rating scales);• knowledge of psychological-clinical intervention techniques, in terms of therapies, effectiveness studies, applicability to different care contexts;• ability to carry out assessment and psychological-clinical support interviews and produce clinical reports that communicate effectively with colleagues and other professional figures (e.g. social workers, psychiatrists);• knowledge of clinical psychology research methods;• ability to critically read and product scientific texts;• development of the ability to critically understand scientific and clinical literature to enhance clinical practice and research and foster continuous vocational training;• knowledge and competences in ethno-psychology to plan interventions in transcultural settings.The curriculum aims to develop professional competences and promote practical psychological-clinical skills through clinical reasoning, focusing on the individual, the family and the social-interpersonal context.The programme also sets out to improve English language skills (level B2). Study may include both the acquisition of the four linguistic skills (reading, writing, listening and dialogue) and compulsory attendance of lessons, in line with the criteria specified by the study programme coherently with the instructions of the Academic Bodies.Teaching is based on the integration of classroom delivery of individual course units with interactive, practical learning and training tools (role-playing, discussion of clinical cases, simulations, internships, workshops).
