The Intelligent Embedded Systems curriculum offers two different pathways, each with its own admission process and deadlines. For admission details, please refer to the dedicated webpage.
Intelligent Embedded Systems – Local Track
In the local track, students complete both the first and second year of the degree programme at the University of Bologna. Students will, of course, have the opportunity to apply for the mobility programmes offered by the University of Bologna (Erasmus+ Study, Erasmus+ Traineeship, Overseas, DISI Department Call for Thesis Preparation Abroad). Admission to this track is limited-entry, with a restricted number of places available each academic year. The admission process is managed directly by the University of Bologna; the admission call is usually published during the first months of the year (between February and March). Enrolment and tuition fee payments are handled by the University of Bologna.
Intelligent Embedded Systems – 28Digital Master School Track
In the track offered in collaboration with 28Digital Master School, students may choose, among the project partner universities, an Entry University where they will spend the first year and an Exit University (located in a different country) where they will spend the second year. The University of Bologna can be selected as either an Entry or an Exit University. An integral part of the curriculum is the 28Digital Summer School, a two-week programme organised at different European locations and focused on five areas that present significant business challenges and opportunities for society and industry: Digital Cities, Digital Industry, Digital Wellbeing, Digital Tech and Digital Finance. The degree project includes an internship at a company or research institution and leads to the preparation of a master's thesis with a strong innovation and entrepreneurial focus. Upon completion of the programme, students will be awarded a Double Degree, issued by both the Entry and Exit Universities, as well as a certificate issued by 28Digital certifying the innovation and entrepreneurial skills acquired throughout the programme.

• University of Bologna
• Politecnico di Milano
• Politecnico di Torino
• ISEN Méditerranée (France)
• Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary)
• Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia)
• Tampere University (Finland)

Recruitment and admission procedures are managed directly by the 28Digital Master School.
