Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT)

To enroll in the Master's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering:

-Curriculum Intelligent Embedded Systems - local track (in English)

A minimum B2 level of English language proficiency is required.
This requirement is considered met if the candidate submits a valid certification of at least level B2 CEFR upon application.

UNIBO CLA provides candidates who do not hold a language certificate the opportunity to sit the Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT). If the candidate passes the placement test with a level B2 or higher, this specific requirement will be fulfilled.

Method of Assessment
The test is divided into two parts:

-Use of English (grammar and vocabulary): 3 tasks with approximately 30 questions in total.

-Listening: approximately 15 tracks with related questions.

-Maximum duration: 60 minutes.

The language assessment will take place online via the Zoom platform. To participate, candidates must connect using a desktop or laptop PC equipped with a webcam and microphone. Alternatively, it is possible to complete the assessment using a tablet + smartphone setup. Without this technical equipment, the assessment cannot be taken.

Please note: The test can be sat ONLY ONCE on one of the dates listed below; please choose your exam date carefully. No further dates can be selected if you miss the exam or if you wish to improve your score.

Further information on the test and how to access the platform will be sent to candidates few days before the date of the exam to their institutional email (@studio.unibo.it).

IMPORTANT!
- It is compulsory to take the test and obtain the required proficiency level BEFORE the intake deadlines. No certificates or results will be accepted after the intake application window expires.

- Registration is managed on a first-come, first-served basis. As there are only 50 places available for each date, we cannot guarantee access to all applicants.

- An institutional email address is required to access the form and apply for the test. For further information, please check the webpage: Institutional credentials and access to University of Bologna online services.

Important notes

This test does not award you a certification as the Linguistic Center will send the results straight to the Admission team. This exam is solely relevant for admission to some UNIBO Degree Programmes (check relevant calls for more information).
