This project, led by students of the international degree course of DHDK (Digital Humanities and Digital Knowledge) and Prof. Tomasi, with the sponsorship of the department of excellence FICLIT (Classical and Italian Philology), was born from the desire to create a point of contact and mediation between public and private entities engaged in the lifecycle management of cultural objects and digital humanists. It highlights the skills and know-how of professionals engaged in the field of Digital Humanities, enhancing the knowledge of those who work at the intersection of humanities and information technologies.
To do this, speakers of international scope from research centers, public institutions and private bodies were invited. The days in which the cycles of meetings take place were structured in such a way as to encourage dialogue and interaction between participants and guests through workshops in which anyone can bring their skills into play, learn, practice and reflect.
The main purpose of the project was therefore to reflect on the professional identity of the digital humanist, dialoguing with professionals and stakeholders so as to identify the skills useful for determining new needs in public and private realities. The ultimate goal of Digital WHOmanities is to share theoretical, methodological and technical models useful for enhancing the innovation and use of cultural objects.
The series was held in Italian. More information can be found in the official website.
