What is a study plan?
The study plan is the complete set of exams that you need to sit in order to graduate. Some exams are compulsory, while others are elective.
A study plan can be submitted only by enrolled students who have paid their tuition fees and, in the case of international students, who hold a valid residence permit.
Every year, GrEnFIn students are asked to pick some elective courses from the learning offer, so that you can build your study plan.
How and When
Students can complete the Study Plan for the a.y. 2025 - 26 in the following two periods:
1st period: from 7th October to 7th November 2025
- 1st December - 12th December 2025 (ONLY for students enrolling in their first year or students transferring from another university)
2nd period: from 12th January to 20th February 2026
The study plan can be submitted via Studenti On-Line ("Study Plan"), accessing the website using their University usernames and passwords.
Please note that:
- if graduating students (enrolled in the a.y. 2024/2025 in their second year) change the Study Plan in the a.y. 2025/26, they will NOT be allowed to graduate in December 2025 or March 2026;
- it is NOT allowed to take exams of elective courses before the academic year in which these activities are planned in your course plan;
- it is NOT possible to fill in the study plan outside the above mentioned periods.
Please, note that even though you work for longer, according to the law a maximum of 12 CFU from external, non-curricular activities can be recognised as part of a degree course.
Students have to fulfill the requirements for the minimum number of credits.
The maximum amount of extra credits that students can insert in their study plan is 24. These are credits that are added to the minimum required by the university. If obtained, they will be included in the weighted average calculated for the graduation mark.
HOW TO PRESENT YOUR STUDY PLAN
Studenti Online
The study plan can be presented via Studenti Online by enrolled students who, accessing the website using their University usernames and passwords:
- need to add optional subjects to their plan;
- need to choose a curriculum;
- need to amend choices made in prior years.
After making the desired choices, remember to click on “save” so that your study plan can be presented correctly.
It is also advisable to print a copy of your completed study plan. This copy is in fact the only way to check for formal or substantive errors that might arise after uploading your study plan.
Hard-copy forms
Students who are “fuori corso” (past envisaged completion time for the degree course) or who have transferred in cannot use the Studenti Online system and must use the hard-copy forms.
All parts of the form must be completed correctly and delivered to the administrative office, via the email address didatticascaravilli.grenfin@unibo.it
APPROVAL OF YOUR STUDY PLAN
If you select elective subjects from among those offered by the degree programme, there is no need for assessment and your plan is approved automatically and input to your career file.
On the other hand, if you want to choose exams not specifically offered by your degree programme, approval or otherwise will be decided by the Degree Programme Board. You must submit your request by filling the form attached at this page (Highlights) and sending it to didatticascaravilli.grenfin@unibo.it
What you CANNOT do:
- it is not possible to fill in the Study Plan outside the two above mentioned periods;
- you need to include your chosen modules in your study plan before sitting the exam.
- ATTENTION: Students enrolled in the academic year 2025/26 to the 2nd year and students enrolled as fuori corso may change the study plan ONLY if they complete the enrolment in the academic year 2025/26, paying the relevant fees. If you choose this option, please note that you will NOT be able to graduate in the graduation session of March 2026 (last session of a.y. 2024/25) and you can only graduate from July 2026, the first session of a.y. 2025/26.
