Expected learning outcomes

 Monitor and brief ECRBX on the developments in EU policies and the EU political context – particularly regarding their implications for the WBG-EU partnership and for WBG client countries, incl.  Emergent priorities of incoming MEPs on target committees in area of international development, Hearings of incoming Commissioners (e.g., INTPA, NEAR, ECHO, Mediterranean, etc.).

Activities:

Policy positions, strategies, and reports on WBG business regions and on financial instruments such as NDICI-GE and EFSD+ published by the EEAS and relevant Commission DGs (INTPA, NEAR, etc.).

Provide support to ECRBX team in specific tasks, incl. preparation of briefings, organization of events, contributions to the EU weekly internal communication update, development of and contributions to a regular (monthly) external communication update.

Note taking, incl. preparation of minutes for recurring internal team meetings.

Research and briefing support; (If relevant) Prepare a substantive note on a topic of importance to the team that would be a long-term topic and deliverable of the internship (e.g. European policy and different strategies in development, humanitarian policy, different EU financial instruments, etc.).

Prepare notes and/or summaries of reports published by the World Bank Group for the team and for possible use in Think Tank events or prepare a one pager to be shared to parliamentarians.

Attend and report on relevant events organized by think tanks.

Participation in meetings.

Proposed Training (self-paced), incl. Introduction to disaster risk management.

Rethinking gender in social development.

Fragility, Conflict and Violence Safe and resilient cities.

Assist with ad-hoc tasks.
